Fanime 2009

Wow, just got back from Fanime, (my first anime convention, btw.) Boy, was it just the coolest thing I’ve ever been to =P. The place was filled with cosplayers, friendly people, and awesome events. Most of my favorite events were probably the ones in the auditorium, which included many music concerts, and, of course, the cosplay spectacular which is probably the highlight of the convention. This year we had a record number of people in the auditorium and the fire department had to put up a line outside the building xD. I also went to many of the events in the dojo, which were basically introductions to various weapons and how to train, etc. Something else I was also happy to see was a local bay area panel for us to get together and discuss various events we could have. Hopefully I can say more on this soon =]. They also held themed cafes, all night kareoke, and even a formal ball on sunday night =P. One of the things I didn’t get to try were the dance lessons, which I might try next year if I have time. There’s just too much to list. Basically, it was a really awesome con, with awesome people, and awesome events and performances, which makes me sad it only happens once a year =P. Well, it might be for my own good, since I kinda spent….all of my cash there, haha.

EDIT: After reading this, specifically where he describes his first time going, I’m getting the idea I might’ve had a similar experience. I can’t wait for next year…I really need to just get involved as much as I can.
